AVORS Medical Group offers a range of services to tackle all your needs.  Our team of sports medicine specialists, physiatrists, orthopaedic surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers, massage therapists and radiologists collaborate to provide expert care and the full range of orthopaedic and physical medicine and rehabilitative services.


We provide diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries in patients ranging from eighteen years to high-performance athletes and geriatrics.


Our providers offer same-day imaging and rehabilitation services as part of a patient­-centered approach to managing sports-related injuries, traumatic injuries, stroke recovery, and traumatic brain injuries.


Our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation providers will work one-on-one to create a plan to help you heal.


What is Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation?

Physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), also known as physiatry or rehabilitation medicine, aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physic al impairments or disabilities affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. A physician having completed training in this field is referred to as a physiatrist. 

Physiatrists are experts in designing comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans, and are integral members of the care team. They utilize cutting-edge as well as time-tested treatments to maximize function and quality of life for their patients.

 Dr. Thomas Nasser, D.O. FAAPMR


Dr. Thomas S. Nasser is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), and highly-rated in Pain Management. He is currently one of two AVORS Pain Management physicians in the entire Antelope Valley making regular hospital and nursing home rounds.  He is the Medical Director of Palmdale Regional Medical Center Institute for Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit.


Dr. Nasser is specially-trained as a Physiatrist who treats injuries and illnesses, both of which have the potential to affect how you move, compromising activities of daily living. Treatment focuses on nerves, muscles, and bones. He’s also an expert at diagnosing and treating pain and/or dysfunction with the objective of restoring maximum health and quality of life to patients of all ages, whether they have difficulty functioning at home, at school, in the workplace, or during recreational activities.


Dr. Thomas S. Nasser is on staff at Antelope Valley Hospital, Palmdale Regional Medical Center, and Antelope Valley Surgical Institute (AVSI). He also sees patients at Wellsprings Post Acute Rehabilitation Center, Antelope Valley Care Center, and Lancaster Healthcare Center in Lancaster, California. Dr. Nasser is the Medical Director at Palmdale Regional Acute Rehab Unit & The Ellison John Transitional Care Center. He is also Director & Co-Founder of Embassy Surgery Center in Lancaster, a new state-of-the-art facility where he will be performing outpatient procedures.



 Dr. Orlando Pena, D.O. FAAPMR


Dr. Orlando Pena is also a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R).  He is the Associate Director of Palmdale Regional Medical Center Institute for Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit.  He helps lead a team that provides  comprehensive, inpatient physical rehabilitation to patients who have experienced stroke, trauma, brain injury, complex orthopedic conditions as well as other major illnesses or injuries.  In residency, his training was diverse and unique as Dr. Pena had a chance to treat patients in the acute setting with major injuries such as spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputations, stroke, and other life-altering hospitalizations.  Dr. Pena provides Pain Management Inpatient Consultations at both local Hospitals in the Antelope Valley (Palmdale Regional Medical Center and Antelope Valley Medical Center) Inpatient.  He is one of two of the only Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation providers who consult all Skilled Nursing and Sub Acute Rehabilitation units. 



Dr. Scott Daniel, DO


Scott Daniel is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine who graduated from University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Florida Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Program. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from University of California, Westwood in 2008 and was awarded his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Pomona, CA. 


Dr. Daniel is a dedicated physician committed to helping patients regain their function and return to the activities they are passionate.  He uses the latest innovative techniques in non-surgical spine and pain management, regenerative medicine, and injections as part of his comprehensive whole patient approach. 


Dr. Daniel emphasizes the importance of listening to and educating his patients about their unique pain presentations and treatment options. He is devoted to understanding his patients’ needs and collaborating with them to resolve chronic pain. Dr. Daniel specializes in treating a diverse range of patients, from high-performance athletes to casual exerciser. 


Ramon Godoy, NP Hospital and Clinical Pain Specialist


Ramon Godoy is a Nurse Practitioner who began working at AVORS in the summer of 2021. Ramon’s work within Post-acute care is as a spectrum of post-hospitalization at various Skilled Nursing Facility and Intermediate Care facility levels. His goal as a pain management specialist is to reduce pain and improve function with procedures while minimizing the patient’s use and dependency on pain medication
