After completing nursing school in 2008, May worked in the ICU at Lancaster Community Hospital/Palmdale Regional Medical Center before becoming a Stroke Coordinator and finally a Palliative Care Program Manager. Because of her bedside manner and excellence in patient care, she was the first recipient of the Daisy Award; a nationally recognized award for “Nursing Excellence” at PRMC.

May joined AVORS in 2019 and works closely with AVORS’ doctors on all aspects of quality patient care, whether in the nursing home, sub-acute or office setting.

Her number one goal is patient comfort and quality of life and is passionate about patient-family-centered care.

She holds a BSN degree (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and an MSN degree (Master of Science in Nursing) from Walden University with a focus on Acute Care Adult Gerontology.

Because of her love of teaching and promoting others, May was a preceptor for PRMC nursing students, currently teaches LVN students at UAV, and speaks at symposiums on the topics of end of life and advanced health care planning.

In her spare time, May, her husband and two children enjoying taking in a good movie or play anytime they can. On any given night, you will catch May listening to either Beethoven or Led Zeppelin cooking up a good meal!
