Dr. Tom Nasser

Board Certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

“There is much more to pain management than medications and injections. Pain management does not live as its own entity like most people think. Pain management is actually an integral piece of rehabilitation. So numbing the pain is not the answer, improving the pain to allow patients to do their daily functions is really the answer. And that’s what I do as a Physiatrist.”

And that’s what I do as a Physiatrist.”

An Osteopathic Doctor Taking a Comprehensive Approach

Dr. Nasser is specially-trained as a Physiatrist who treats injuries and illnesses, both of which have the potential to affect how you move, compromising activities of daily living. Treatment focuses on nerves, muscles, and bones. He’s also an expert at diagnosing and treating pain and/or dysfunction with the objective of restoring maximum health and quality of life to patients of all ages, whether they have difficulty functioning at home, at school, in the workplace, or during recreational activities.

One of Few Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physicians

  • Arthritis
  • Neck & back pain

He focuses on the development of a comprehensive program for putting the pieces of the patient’s life back together after injury or disease, avoiding surgery whenever possible, providing the most conservative treatment possible.

Dr. Nasser is certified to perform a variety of procedures, including:

  • Epidural Injections
  • Trigger Point Injections
  • Electro-diagnostics (EMG/NCVs)
  • Botox for Treatment of Spasticity

Dr. Nasser utilizes a comprehensive approach — with the primary focus being the patient — to determine his diagnosis.

“The most important consideration is what the patient expresses/tells us — that’s essentially what we go off of,” Dr. Nasser says. But Dr. Nasser also takes into account what additional materials that shed light, such as labs, reports, electrodiagnostics, imaging studies, etc.

We take care of people, not pictures.” ~ Dr. Nasser

Dr. Nasser then treats “the whole person” not just the symptoms. By evaluating the impact of a condition on the person as a whole (medically, socially, emotionally and vocationally), he helps his patients understand and take control of their health.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has classified the abuse of opioid medications as a public health epidemic. Dr. Nasser is a licensed provider of Suboxone, a prescription medication used to treat adults who are addicted to opioids. He is committed to doing his part to end this crisis, and will work with you and your loved ones to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for opioid addiction.
